Fire Risk Assesment
The broad approach of the Fire assessment is to reduce the risk of fire and spread of fire and this is achieved by means of a 'suitable and sufficient' fire risk assessment. Fire certificates previously issued by the fire authority are no longer validated in most cases due to legacy and evolving briefs.
The Fire Risk Assessments applies to premises including:-
- Offices and shops
- Premises providing care such as hospitals and care homes
- Pubs, clubs and restaurants
- Educational premises
- Community halls and leisure centres
- Houses with communal areas
- Common parts of blocks of flats
- Hotels and hostels
- Places of worship
- Factories, warehouses and industrial units.
The fire risk assessment includes the following observations and findings:-
- Description of the property and the relevant legislation
- Information about the property including the fabric detail, number of floors, use of
- Premises and general risk level
- Fire hazards and ignition sources including electrical sources of ignition, heating,
- Storage and housekeeping, external contractors and the possibility of arson
- Means of escape including escape routes, fire exits and the structural integrity
- Fire alarm and fire and smoke detection
- Signage and notices
- Emergency lighting maintenance
- Firefighting equipment and installations
- Management arrangements including fire safety policy, fire evacuation procedures
and arrangements for evacuation of people with disabilities
- Access for fire services and including ventilation of fire escapes
- At the end of the assessment report a clear action plan containing recommendations to reduce the risk of fire and spread of fire is given, including an order of priority for action.
- Our report includes a 3 month support service to assist with
any queries relating to implementation of the recommended actions.
Business Continuity Planning
Disaster recovery and planning are processes that help organisations prepare for
disruptions in business known as events—whether those event might include a storm or
simply a power outage caused by a water ingress in the main DB Board. PropertyPoint
involvement in this process can range from overseeing the plan, to providing input
and support, to putting the plan into action as a supporting agent during an
emergency and aid in the recovery process to minimise business interruptions.
Consultancy
Facilities management contracts typically include mechanical and electrical
maintenance, general and preventative maintenance, cleaning,
security, fire safety, catering, vending, office services, document archiving and
interior and exterior landscaping.
PropertyPoint provides a procurement consultancy service which can include scoping and
specification of services, development of service level agreements and KPIs and
management of the tender process.
In the case where a client already has services or contracts in place, we review
these areas and either terminate and move to an alternative supplier or renegotiate
where appropriate. The result can be a cut in costs whilst maintaining standards
or alternatively achieving a superior service whilst maintaining your current
financial outlay.
In cases where clients have multiple premises, we establish the current position
with regard to service provision, provide a strategy for centralising the services
in order to achieve a common standard throughout the company’s premises and then to
implement these changes. The benefits include consistency in standards of
facilities and health and safety, improved levels of service provision and
significant financial savings.
In addition to reviewing your contracts, PropertyPoint can also examine your entire
facilities management operation, or just parts of it, and provide a report of the
current status and recommendations for the future.
